DIY: EMBELLISHED COLLARS
Trying to rack your brain for a few last minute DIY gift ideas? I know you have a useless old collared shirt laying around. Maybe two. And of course if you don’t, this is a great “excuse” to go to thrifting.
Its really as simple as:
1. Cutting the collar off of an old collared shirt. Experiment with textures and colors. I used a velvet material. How about denim? Get creative.
2. You’ll need a glue gun, glue sticks, and if you would like your collar to be more stiff, perhaps some cardboard to support the fabric from behind.
3. You’ll need a variety of things to spice them up with. Gemstones, studs, spikes, lace, fur, or pearls. Thy sky is the limit!
4. Glue or sew on your chosen do-dads and have fun.
5. Wear over a sweater, a turtle neck, even with a plain old t-shit. Or of course - show some holiday spirit and give them to your friends.
